So with all this speculation and rumours if you were Sullivan....
Who would be your choice to be the next Manager of West Ham United and why?

I would go for Rafa Benitez because he knows the Premiership well, been reasonably successful and his spoken English is good.

Re: So with all this speculation and rumours if you were Sullivan....
He appointed Benitez before (before Real intervened) so would do it again.
Call me a cynic but feel we are being used to stir some action out of the Newcastle board and get the ownership/funding sorted.
Just like Fonseca used us to get a bigger and better Shakhtar contract.

Pellegrini is obviously only a possibility if he genuinely wants to get out of China and is realistic about returning to European salary levels.
To me it’s more about the structure and governance of the club and whether they are prepared to deal with the stuff Moyes raised as needing attention.
And that’s not just providing lots of cash.
I’m not holding my breath as self awareness doesn’t strike me as Sullivan’s FORTE.

can one of you fine gents explain why rafa benitez and his functional but effective football is awe inspiring while a bloke who never finished outside of the top 7 in fifteen years of european management and has played lovely stuff all the while is disappointing?

Yep Raneri or Pellegrini
Least inspiring of the candidates
Then there is Pards once even they turn us down or their demands are too much for the Dwarf

I would so love it to be Benitez but seriously why would you jump from Ashley to Sullivan, you'd have to be mad.

That fucking horrible little cunt wants to do every last thing on the cheap until he finally decides it's time to go.
It won't be Rafa no way.

Ranieri would be the Sullivan cheap option...
Not a future thinking appointment...

Sacking not the right word.
Should have said not offering Moyes a new contract.

Sacking Moyes and bringing in Ranieri would be classic Sullivan.
Fucking ridiculous beyond belief.

I wonder what the excuse will be when we don't land this NEXT LEVEL manager?!

Re: So with all this speculation and rumours if you were Sullivan....
What makes you think it would be a long term project? Managers live and die by their results, I highly doubt we'd see a manager stay more than four years, so why would being 66 be an issue?

Curbkrawler 9:52 Thu May 17
Re: So with all this speculation and rumours if you were Sullivan....
I agree with Claret . The only gettable manager is Ranieri and I think it’s a huge mistake . At 66 I also think he’s too old , especially for a long term project .

The English speaker ,proven premier league experience and he’ll be cheap ! Got Sullivan’s DNA all over it !

Re: So with all this speculation and rumours if you were Sullivan....
Yes I could how those old fools would try to sell Ranieri to us but he would be a massive mistake. I also see a lot on here buying the idea but he has had his moment in the sun and that really had more to do with a unique set of circumstances than any particular skill. A few surprising teams could have won that season and to think he is any step up would be a big mistake.

Premier league winning manager

How funny, people harking on about the old days and how it was so great, and doing it on the world wide web on a football messageboard to people they've never met before.

Progress, innit.
